I play the role of BOBBY in the much anticipated film adaptation of Emmet Kirwan's Award Winning Play DUBLIN OLDSCHOOL.
It was directed by two time IFTA Award Winning Director Dave Tynan. I worked with him previously on a music video for JAPE for the song 'Seance of Light'.
Over a drug-fuelled lost weekend in Dublin, Jason (Emmet Kirwan), a wannabe DJ reconnects with his estranged homeless brother Daniel (Ian Lloyd Anderson), a recovering addict.
Emmet Kirwan (Sarah & Steve/Heartbreak) and Ian Lloyd Anderson (Game of Thrones, Love/Hate) reprise their award-winning stage roles and are joined by an ensemble including Sarah Greene (Penny Dreadful/Ransom), Seána Kerslake (A Date for Mad Mary/Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope), Mark O’Halloran (Adam & Paul/History’s Future/The Virtues) and Stephen Jones (Red Rock/Love Hate).
Directed by Dave Tynan, with a script he co-wrote with Kirwan, the film was shot for four weeks on location in Dublin City and Wicklow.
Dublin Oldschool follows Jason on a chemically enhanced trip through the streets of Dublin as he stumbles from one misguided adventure to another. Somewhere between the DJs, decks, drug busts and hilltop raves, he stumbles across a familiar face from the past, his brother Daniel.
Daniel is an educated homeless heroin addict living on the streets of Dublin. The brothers haven’t seen or spoken to each other in years but over a lost weekend they reconnect and reminisce over tunes, trips, their history and their city. Two brothers living on the edge but perhaps they have more in common than they think.
